Recap: The future and present are bright for Christian Central Academy in the Independent Athletic Conference. CCA earned the IAC championship Thursday with a 49-39 victory over Park, its fourth win this season in four meetings between the teams. “We were a little concerned about that [familiarity],” CCA coach Brian Ellsworth said. “But we played with great defensive tenacity.” Senior forward Peter Moran led CCA (15-10) with 20 points, 14 of which came in the second half. Moran was deadly from 15 feet, Ellsworth said. Senior Jack Ranallo scored all nine of his points on three first-half three-pointers, while eighth-grader Stafford Trueheart—all 6-foot-3 of him—grabbed 10 rebounds to go with seven points. - CCA Girls Varsity defeated Park 44-14 Collen Doyle 6, Claire. Recap: Erin Kelly helped CCA (20-5) finish off an undefeated league season with a big 44-14 win over Park. The Crusaders, who finished 10-0 in IAC play, outscored Park, 26-5, in the second half.
