Senior Emelie Gidley Named to Business First 2011 All-WNY Academic Team

Christian Central Academy is proud to announce that senior Emelie Gidley has been chosen for Business First’s 2011 All-Western New York Academic Team as among the 100 most outstanding high-school seniors across Western New York. Emelie has also been named a commended student in the National Merit Scholarship program. She has served as the senior class secretary, captain of the girls’ varsity soccer team and is an accomplished violinist. Emelie has also earned the prestigious Congressional Award for her outstanding record of community service, and has received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD where she plans to study engineering.
The Academic Team program is designed to spotlight students who pursue excellence both in and out of the classroom. The committee chose this year’s winners based on their records of academic achievement, school leadership and community involvement. The formal announcement of this year’s 100 winners will be made in Business First’s Guide to Western New York Schools, scheduled to hit newsstands on June 10.
