Read Across Buffalo is a summer reading initiative designed to inspire students from kindergarten through 12th grade to develop a love for reading while exploring the Buffalo community.
Through engaging literacy events, exciting challenges, and special rewards, students and families can make reading a fun and interactive experience all summer long.
With partnerships across Western New York, including Explore & More – The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum, Read Across Buffalo connects readers with local landmarks, special events, and opportunities to earn great prizes while building lifelong literacy skills. Visit Buffalo’s iconic locations like the Buffalo History Museum, Explore & More Museum, Botanical Gardens, the Buffalo Zoo, and more. Each one you visit, color in your map for an extra star!

From July 1 through August 31, participants can enjoy a free docent-led tour of Buffalo City Hall offered by our partners at Explore Buffalo. Tours are held Monday through Friday at 12:00 PM.
