Day 6 – Fun in the Sun

This morning we had another beautiful sunrise and another chance to share devotions on the beach. God is an amazing artist. We were challenged by Mr. Wade to make sure your faith is not a feeling. Feelings change but faith stands strong no matter what is around us. He also told us that we had given the Dominican people the greatest gift, which was the message of salvation.

The girls were invited to go to Lily House and Jeff shared a devotion of encouragement to the residents and our girls. Jeff read from Matthew and helped us to see we have all let people down and people let us down. He shared how even Jesus’ disciples let Him down. However, Jesus never let anyone down. He accepts us even though we have let him down. He challenged all the girls to allow God to forgive them and learn to depend on Him for all their needs. One of the residents shared her story of how she was on the streets since she was 15. She was learning how to have a better life through the help of Lily House. She has accepted Christ and now she and her children are getting help. It was a very moving experience.

At around 10, we left for our fun day at the Resort. It was a wonderful time, full of volleyball in and out of the water, swimming at the beach or in the pool, and food, food, food. We all had fun despite some cloud cover and rain. We are now going to meet for our final devotion time. It has been a very good week but we are ready to come home.

See you all at the airport tomorrow night. Praise the Lord for his provision and revelation to our students. Keep praying they will continue to serve Him in the states.
